I am an independent scholar based in New York City. Formally educated and trained as an art historian and theologian, I research and write about the intersection of art, religion, and contemporary life.

My areas of interest include the history of art production in the United States; womanist, postcolonial, and liberation theologies; and the personal and cultural search for home and belonging.

I write, teach, and do research for museums, colleges, and publications. My independent scholarship occurs alongside participation in collaborative projects based at cultural institutions and educational nonprofits.
