I am an independent scholar based in New York City. Educated and trained as both an art historian and theologian, I research and write about the intersection of art, religion, and contemporary life.

My areas of interest include art of the U.S. from the late 17th to mid-20th centuries; womanist and liberation theologies; and the personal and cultural meanings of home.

I write, teach, and do research for museums, colleges, and both online and print publications. My independent scholarship occurs alongside my work on collaborative projects at cultural institutions and educational nonprofits.
